26 Extortion

Britton had one last crack at us by hiring a lawyer named Lance Rowe of Armstrong Barton of Wanganui to bring an extortion bid against us in the Civil Court. They were trying to extort over $100,000 out of us for the ‘pine trees’ which he had, many times, admitted were not his and the rest of his “gear” and his 20 (now16) deer that he never bothered to pick up after he was given permission to do so.

The below letter proves that their claims were bogus. They did not include the letter in their discovery documents. “We have no record of that letter” said Rowe when I asked him where the original was.

I’d previously obtained a copy of it from the cops.

Attempting to pervert the course of justice by withholding documents?

We countered him by claiming damages for a number of his crimes against us.

At the very last moment Britton “blew his arse” and got Rowe to fax us this letter.

If that wasn’t an admission of guilt of all the crimes he had committed against us I don’t know what is. He gave up all his claims (that would have broken his avaricious heart) because he knew that his final bluff had been called and he that he would lose big time if he went to Court. I accepted his offer to discontinue because I couldn’t stand the thought of being in the same room with that evil nut and because we discovered, too late, that we had hired lawyers who were mainly interested in fee gouging and that doing a competent job of work came a very a distant second to that.

  1. Pol Pot - yes… kill all the farmers so there is more food for everyone who is left - he was a hero wasn’t he.

  2. That’s right, ignore the real meaning of my comment ZebuQueen.

  3. Is this as much fun for you as it is for me?? Shall we do this on every chapter??

You’re right - the big meanies didn’t agree with you - quick! Have them all shot! All the intelligent people shot… like the ones who don’t agree with you… striking coincidence isn’t it! :-)

  4. I assume given what you’ve shown to be a lack of knowledge in some aspects of how this all works, you’ve never actually studied law - a lawyer does not in any proceedings express THEIR opinon - this is done for good reason and I’m happy to explain it to you - it is always what they are directed to do by their client. i.e a lawyer will never say “My client is innocent your honour” they will always say “my client wishes to plead not guilty in this matter … blah blah blah”. Really they’re mostly little hand puppets - and whether or not they believe what their client is telling them or not they are required, by law and ethics, to work in their clients interests.

Once again it appears that your issue is with your neighbour and anyone who isn’t rushing to help you and throw stones at Britton is the enemy…

  5. Don’t tell me you’re a lawyer? Note the “we would add” ect underlined gem in lance Rowe’s letter, that’s the sort of blatant rubbish that induced Shakespear to write, “The first thing we do, lets kill all the lawyers”.

  6. Wow jack not only are the cops dirty but the lawyers you hired are too. It must be a conspiracy of massive proportions, or maybe you are a wee bit paranoid!

  7. Maybe I am a bit paranoid Donk but there is no avoiding the fact that the slut lawyers quadrupled their fee after it was too late for me to sack them and hire new ones. The judge said there had been too many delays already (none of my doing) so I was stuffed. Ignore the fact that the scumbag Britton dropped all his claims won’t you Donk.
